It’s November 23.
You feel stuck,
preparing mind and body
for tomorrow.

Sometimes you go
two steps forward
and then a giant step,

or a bunch
of super giant
steps back
or not!

Trying to resist
the comfort
of standing
still

while wishing
to run
in
place.

Damn. The call to live
beyond boundaries
sometimes seems
so seductive.

And there are times
you just want
to run away
from it all

because you don’t
have desire
to get caught
in the past.

Then out of nowhere,
you recall hearing
someone, somewhere
whisper

that while we may
follow the same paths,
there are times
when the palms of some

don’t burn while
others are scorched
holding
the same star.
