Quiet as it’s kept
Your mom had a life before she became your mom
She was once a kid, teenager with angst, or not,
Loved, was loved or not
Played with other kids
Shared her toys or not, had toys or not
Liked vegetables or not
Studied, or not
Was the perfect little lady or could have been hell on wheels
Was an only child, middle child, or the oldest
Was bratty, moody, romantic, perfect, or wild child…
Made her parents crazy
Realized her dreams or not
Fought with her family, slammed doors, smoked cigarettes or weed or not, drank booze or soda
Loved, was loved, never knew love, learned to love
Was hot or not
Loved your dad or not
Was beaten, beat others, or fought back
Could forgive or not
Is, was, never was , always was, sometimes was there for you

But quiet as it’s kept
Your mom had a life before she became your mom
