Suddenly jumped
by unexplained case
of some serious blues,
real old school blues.
The kind of blues
that feels like Earth
is spinning crazy and
stars refuse to align.
The kind of day when
all the stores run out
of your favorite candy
bars and ice cream.
The day you decide
to make yourself nuts
worrying about stuff
that you normally dismiss.
Then out of nowhere
you hear some old song
that inspires you to glide
over crumbled cement sidewalks
and greet total strangers
with joy they will share
with their friends and
other strangers.
