a call back to Juneteenth

Justice/injustice
The words
Different sides of the same coin.
We stand in one space, or so we think.
We stand at one specific moment in history,
To see what is happening…
but we see it differently.
What justifies the act?
Is it the motivation of the actors
Or the audience?
Who decides?
one person? a select few? The majority?
Does anyone ever consult with God?

Remember our reactions are influenced
By a mix of stories
Told over time by an individual, a people.
Justice/injustice which do you seek?
What side are you on?
Well no need to worry
Because the powers that be
Will notify us what was decided
While we were sleeping.

When the emotions dulled and the motivation.
Became an annoying source of controversy.
When war was put on hold “for the time being.”
When the children were forgotten.

All in the name of what?
Justice/injustice?
