A lone bird
sings solo
against traffic
and footsteps

on cement
sidewalks
and winding
streets.

We wait
to see how
the drama
will unfold.

Will the
sun appear
and save us
from today?

Will birds
convince
flowers
to bloom?

Will we
dare to
inspire
ourselves?

Will we
bestow faith
these next
few hours

or will we
just settle
for another
day?
