You woke up shaking.
Not because you were cold,
but because it was another day.

Like yesterday when
You felt lost in a
self-imposed isolation.

It seemed your only visitors
were your shadow
and your reflection.

You suspected they were
only there because
they had to be,

because that was
God’s expectation
and thus their duty.

But in reality,
Your shadow and reflection
were there with you

because God needed
to let you know
God was there yesterday,

is with you now,
will be there tomorrow
and every other place you wander.
