Fast feet on sidewalk.
A big Afro bouncing,
racing.

Laughter,
giggles running
with the big kids.

Denim overalls
half up,
half down

but does not
impede
the journey ahead.

Must fulfil mission
to catch up
with the older kids

with
out
stopping.

Small brown face
full of smiles
and joy.

Eyes focused
ahead,
living the dream.

That burst of awareness
that she can propel herself
into the wind.

Feet alternate
touching ground then
into air.

See her fly.
That’s one
fast kid!
