This is Boston.
No Spring, yet too much pollen,
Knee deep in construction
Students everywhere from August to June with brief reprieves in April and December

It is Boston.
Festivals and walks along the Charles and Com Ave from April to October.
The people always swaying to the beat of the music which is often punctuated by the unexpected
BAM of firecrackers or bullets.

It is Boston.
Where everyone is a road warrior:
bicyclist against jogger,
jogger against pedestrian,
pedestrian against bus driver,
bus driver against motorist,
motorist against the homeless guy with the sign

It is Boston.
Costly rents and unmentionable mortgage payments for tiny spaces
described as “quaint” and “cozy”.

It is Boston, everyday.
Every day, digging the Big Dig

Every day digging the Big Dream
to see if Boston can feel like home for someone like me.

BONUS: JC’s Holiday Thought

Columbus Day – the holiday commemorating the guy who used other people’s money to discover nothing…
The ultimate con!
