every last
hand in the room
raised

***

so many names
to go down in history
unredaction

***

the depths
of depravity
deeper than Hell

***

and all these years
we thought Watergate
was bad

***

the enormity
of their bravery
in the face of exposure

***

one name
everywhere
and nowhere

***

syncophants
obsequiously kissing up
to the world’s worst narcissist

***

enough
enough.
enough!

***

parents
lock up your children
no one is safe from him

***

not since Hitler
has the world seen such depravity
in a single man

***

Dante might need to add
another level in his inferno
for this one

Jennifer Gurney lives in Colorado where she teaches, paints, writes and hikes, not in that order. She has written all her life, but at 62, she’s finally lived enough life, and suffered enough loss, to write like a poet. As a two-time survivor, she applauds the bravery of each survivor in the Espstein files and all of us having to re-endure the pain as witnesses to this heinous depravity.

Edward S. Gault is a poet and fine arts photographer living in Brighton, Massachusetts. His work has appeared in Oddball Magazine, Spectrum, Wilderness House Literary Review, Interlude, Currents, and Encore. His poetry collection, Airhead and Other Poems was published this year by Read and Green Books.
