“Heartache” © Edward Michael Supranowicz
You
Whenever I hear that song
Im fifteen again,
My torso tightens,
As if to keep my heart in place,
Only until it ends.
And it always ends.
The stars soak up my soul,
And the ocean reflects it.
I want to swim in that ocean,
So I can feel close to myself,
And my lungs can be free from air,
Drowning is peaceful,
When it’s not on land.
My life hasn’t even started,
Yet It feels like it’s already over.
