He Doesn’t Care

Forty-two million Americans
denied food assistance.

He doesn’t care.

Millions of Americans
lose their healthcare.

He doesn’t care.

Federal workers,
Americans, working without pay.

He doesn’t care.

Airlines shut down,
weakening the economy.

He doesn’t care.

Americans feeling pain,
hurt by his cruelty.

He doesn’t care.

Inflicting pain
for selfish gain.

He doesn’t care.

After all,
a garish ballroom,

a paved-over
rose garden,

an oval office,
trimmed in gilt

and, perhaps, a stadium
bearing his name,

all worth sacrificing
Americans,

for all he cares.
