soup
Tuesday, I couldn’t drive
I was home at the table
my phone lit up, a message, a man
a name – I couldn’t remember
and then Wednesday
I read his apology
stepped out into the sun
and immediately forgot
Indifference yielding ash and
there’s an ardent amnesia
that stares into sweet sweeping wind
Until I’m sick, bored of boarders
I think I’ll make some soup
