Never One to Cry

If the years could kindly sit back and laugh
or tears could flow
from an old photograph
it’s all in the way the world remembers us
you were never one to break trust , or cry
you were the one to say goodbye

it’s not that I’m not over you
days only come in one color though
solemn blue
if I could look back in more ways than one
would I find you there
or what we’ve become

so take this with a grain of salt
it’s not that it’s anybody’s fault
sometimes things don’t work out like they should
or maybe they do
I just can’t see it
all I see
is you’re gone for good

you were never one to cry
you were the one
to say goodbye
the one
to say goodbye
