All the locust
Had an accident
On the way to the Temple of Wealth…
They ate everything.
OK,
So it wasn’t an accident—
You know what I mean…
You’re standing in it.
— IF you’re lucky enough to be standing up in it
while everybody else is standing out in the cold—
(where neo-racism ain’t much of a blanket— yo? )
David Earl Williams, The Absurdilachian, was born deep down near the bottom of the Ethnocentric Gorge and grew up on the banks of the great Ethnocentric River just like everybody else who was ever temporarily alive.
Glenn Bowie is a published poet, lyricist, musician and photographer from the Boston area. He also owns and operates an elevator company that supplies custom-built elevators for clients from New England to Hollywood. The author of two poetry and photograph collections (Under the Weight of Whispers and Into the Thorns and Honey) from Big Table Publishing, he donates all profits from his books to various charities for the homeless and local animal shelters.
