My eyes
are blurred

and I can’t
see so well.

Not blind.
Still grateful.

Pain’s needed
to shape you,

redesign and
redirect you.

I can’t always
read 20/20.

But I hear
the message.

My eyes
are blurry.

But my heart
is directed

toward
the goal

of peace
through pain.

It’s always
been the lesson.

Blind faith
they say.

Fake it till
you make it.

A course
correction.

A suggestion
to follow.

Not an order.
Just be better.

Show up for
life, for love.

To be a
better father.

To be a product
of environment.

To make
life smoother.

I hear rain
all too well

on the
windshield,

and the
wipers

try to make
my vision clearer.

To look in
the mirror

and see recovery
in progress.

To blindly
follow the path

till it
becomes clearer.

We all
want 20/20.

We don’t
want pain.

We stay clear
of the cause

of all
the pain.

When the
water comes

the promises
become clearer

and life
becomes easier.
