Every day is a fight.
How you going to make it right?
What are you going to do tonight?
To settle those angels fighting in your head?
What’s it going to be today?
What drug? What drink?
That will stop the things you think?
Can you do it without it?
Let the angels sing.
Let the loser win.
Get outside and make a difference
with this rhyming thing.
Every day step up to the plate
Let the first one go, catch your place,
set your feet dig your cleats in.
Strike one, you missed the job.
Strike two, you lost the girl.
Dig in, take a breath.
And thank God you’re still up at a bat.
Here comes an easy one.
Right over the plate.
All you need to do is get to the base.
Wash that sad look off your face.
Run, Win, Innovate.
Celebrate
that primate instinct.
The loser is going to win
or take a walk
But get home.
It’s not your last
at bat.
