I look outside my window.
There’s snow on the ground.
I look around my messy office
and at the computer I’m using now.
I look into my reflection
and see a writer with glasses,
and a hat that says
Oddball Foundation on the brim,
Oh shit, that’s me, I am him,
flowing to the rhythm like
some magic mushroom magician.
I look and see beauty all around me
I see a Rodecaster Class A preamp.
I see two amps, a microphone stand.
I see scissors, and tape, ’cause I create.
I see books on my shelf, pens on my desk.
I got medicines that help my head
and a water bottle to keep me quenched.
I got a soda stream,
a banging beat
on a You tube screen,
daughter’s toys on the floor
and Obi on my wall.
I see an Oddball Magazine,
the zine from 1995
that started it all
on my shelf.
I see a writer
rich with wealth
’cause he’s got
a sense of self.
I see records on the floor
and a Specials LP
with a needle on the B-side.
I see a creative,
a creative man looking back
while I finish this line.
