Despite human
frailties,

Earth’s still
in orbit. Amen.

Though considered
unhip by many,

I thank God
we’re still here.

Maybe we are
actually getting

smarter, more
compassionate.

Or are we just
plain lucky that

those in heaven
continue to bless us

with patience
and kindness.

In any case,
let’s take time

to thank our
guardian angels

and those ancestors
still here

despite
ourselves.
