Venus

Orbiting around a dead sun
Sensing there is no revival for a lonely one
Whose decisions have convinced them there is no one

To reignite the sun

Not a star not a comet not a miracle
Closed heart
Insisting they were born to play the part of a
Dead planet
You did not plan it
You allowed it

The sun surrendered to being swallowed
Lives to wallow
And shame others for offering

Love

Now your source is
Higher than a pedestal
Other planets revolve around your withdrawal
You have made it seem so holy
To not love
To show love as a service
So that
Your ash can have meaning
Being sought out becomes your reason
To feel anything

Venus pauses

Space traffic jam
Venus knows her hand
Her purpose
Reviving dead planets is not on her scrolls
Away from lifeless loveless souls she rolls

Death is contagious

Imagine Earth without romance
Imagine Earthlings just feeling bad
Because the sun won’t shine on them
Turns its back

Blames their worship on
Venus

Then runs back
To its aimless orbit
Guided by the split
Of its heart

The sun grew dark

Lights up as Narcissus to its reflection in the abyss
Considering its grandeur all that is it
Higher than a pedestal hiding itself from the desired kiss

Of Venus

Icarus, unwise, aimed for a ride on a blazing sight

Venus has mind
Has time
To stay alive
Continue beaming onto beings who are seek find give stay open to receiving

FEELINGS

The sun
Makes others squint and seek shade from its eclipse
You’d think
A star was before you
You learn
A wound is before you

Disguised as a guide toward warm healing
Recognized as Ice in comfort with its bleeding scab

A dead sun feeding hungry ones growing to the tales of a broken one seeking
repair from new birthed ones only to become

Their sunburn.

Venus turns

Conjuncts with those whose souls dance on volcanoes who like it hot who melt
the cold who neon enlighten ocean floors
Venus Aflame

Remains her source
Remains on course

There is no revolution if the solution is a distraction

Forget the attraction
Magnets exist
As do opposites
Venus shifts

The dead sun drifts
As it seeks to forget it exists

The sun is dangerous
Seeking worship

Darkened by its very existence
Its insistence
To be brighter to attract the brightest to have the highest
Altar

The sun falters and dries out waters

Venus, with her overflowing cup

Shines
On

Happily Ever After.
