Art
My blood the most exquisite
red in the universe,
nothing a painter’s palette
holds can compare
to my shade of deepest
boiling-over red
Don’t attempt mixing colors
you’ll never achieve
so vital a hue as pushes
out of my skin’s
escape route.
Blotting onto a blank
white tissue
its own religion.
When I need to make art.
When I need to gouge myself.
