Memorable Moments

I crossed over
the mountain,
and found the other side.
Walking backwards
I held my pants up
fearing they would fall,
tripping me into oblivion.
On an unmapped road
I drove to find its end,
I found a beginning.
The blinds were closed
to the view,
they didn’t know,
I didn’t want to be seen.
Anonymously,
I wrote my address
on the package
and mailed it to me
as a surprise gift.
Nightmares wake me,
robbing needed sleep,
but satisfy my craving
for horror movies.
I turned around and
drove back toward home,
ten miles from my house,
one mile to go,
I came to a detour,
decided it was too long.
I wrote this poem
to be published
hoping to be
rejected again.
