Pincushion
chewing on discomfort
silence continues to play
air is losing weight
as I relinquish my space
to the all-knowing
who I let define me
there is an odd sense of pain and comfort
that comes in feeling inadequate
its predictability induces calm—familiar yet unwelcome
a sensation that’s painfully comfortable
like a pincushion
candlelight manages to trick the senses
sometimes
