Pray to Forget – 2 Dante line poem

Remembering my mistakes and my flaws.
Hearing the voices of my past,
Echoing in my head.

I must sleep.

But my thoughts are stronger than I,
Like waves that pull you in.
Drowning in doubt at the ocean.

Then we would pray to him to grant you peace.

Help me escape this evil that I face, and worse,
Lead me to witness what you have said.
One day I will forget.
One day I will be set free.

Jose Argueta is a student at Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he is studying architecture. In addition, Jose has also found a deep appreciation for poetry this semester. His interest in poetry has allowed him to find new ways to express himself, which in turn complements his design work. Outside of school, Jose enjoys drawing, writing music, and playing sports, all of which contribute to his creative development. His interests influence how he thinks about architecture and writing, and he hopes to bring a fresh viewpoint to both fields in the future.

Edward Michael Supranowicz is the grandson of Irish and Russian/Ukrainian immigrants. He grew up on a small farm in Appalachia. He has a grad background in painting and printmaking.
