Gold Velvet

Scene: White House grounds: The Concrete Rose Garden, late afternoon in early fall

Laura Loomer, dressed as Lady Liberty, spread-eagled on the ground
Trump looming over her, wearing a “Rocky” warm-up jacket and no pants
Don, Jr. and Kim Guilfoyle giggling while snorting coke
Stephen Miller, gazing on the prostate figure, sneers
Melania passed out on pills in the Lincoln Bedroom
RFK, Jr. wearing a bear’s head
Rudy G, dancing in a tutu
Vance vigorously humping a couch
L’il Mikey Johnson pretending everything’s normal

Trump takes hit of amyl nitrite
Demands of his entourage:
“Sing Kandy Kolored Klown!”

John Roche lives in Placitas, NM, helping run Jules’ Poetry Playhouse and edit Poetry Playhouse Publications. Along with editing the five-volume Poets Speak series, his poetry books include On Conesus, Topicalities, Road Ghosts, The Joe Poems, Joe Rides Again: Further Adventures of Joe the Poet, and the latest, Tubbables.

Jack Marty takes photos when he feels like it. He thinks long bios get in the way of the work.
