Beneath the Pond

Beneath the pond, alive with the greenest kelp,
she slithered with opened hair
so full and soft it wavered
as the leaves upon each tree which surrounded
the water’s edge -climbing and motioning upon the wind.

Her feet sunk through the basin of murky soot.
Trickling water beads threaded across
the crest and summit of her breasts.
She spoke to the murmuring trees as the fondest
buds opened in eager want of tamp and depresses.

Quick pounce of the rattling branches were her arms
as she stroked back the films, cool and crisp, like linens
where she slumped to the edge and pondered.
