Ghosts in the city, you haunt me.
You are telling me my story.

Ghost of old photos.
Of friends and old foes.

Where the emperor had no clothes.
Where the bars were never closed.

Where the roses seemed to bloom.
In concrete garden rooms.

Where the smoke it used to loom.
And friends were gone too soon.

You’re telling me my story.
But all of this sounds like memory.

Playing open at the Burren.
Waiting for my turn.

I didn’t know what to find.
So I tried my best to learn.

So I kept on walking on.
Writing poems and singing songs.

I wrote my redemption song.
And I will sing it till I am gone.

Living in the city.
