Bamboozled No More! World Spining, Speed Varies, Nothing Happens

Speed varies.
Sometimes feels
like earth is
moving forward
while too many
of its people
are too often
unwilling
to let go
of the isms
that keep us
running in
circles.

Too many folks
speak about
equality
as a myth
while others
try to repackage
the idea
as part of
a new political
“reality.”

A legacy
birthing
questionable
realities
that in turn
have shaped
and continue
to shape
the fates
of nations
and their
people
into two
convenient
categories,
The haves
and the
have nots.

We fool ourselves
into believing
that we are
moving forward.
Then we are
baffled by
how we always
find ourselves
in perpetual
shock when
nothing
changes
again and again,
running in
madcap circles
only to find
ourselves
in the same
ole place.

We try to
convince
ourselves
that we
can move
at the speed
of light
then find
ourselves
struggling
to catch
a breath
only to find
our feet
planted
in mountains
of myths that
too many folks
are not
willing or
or able to
understand.

Who has
the time
to explore
the concepts
of peace
and equality.

There are times
it feels
like earth
barely moves
and we are
being held
in place
by some force,
unable
to move,
stuck in time,
which explains
why isms,
wars, hate
have become
the only
legacy
to be
passed on
from generation
to generation.
