Somewhere,
someone’s
TV or radio
awakens me
too early from
deserved sleep.
Any hopes
for returning
are gone.
Anticipation.
The sounds of
morning traffic
and early shows
mingle with bits
of conversations
that have
displaced the
AM calm.
It’s official.
The grace period
has passed.
It is time
to wake up,
to wake now.
It’s
officially
morning.
