Bamboozled No More! Clashing Perspectives on Stuff

There exists some people,
artists, writers, collectors
and “just folks” with boxes
full of images, words,
things in need of a home

where these precious
accumulations of
this n’ thats can be
kept safe and unjudged,
rare, protected collections

to be kept in self-appointed
neat freak obsessive mode
until that right time when
they’re converted into art
or for some other purpose.

As opposed to those who believe
a place for every thing
& everything in its place,

letting excess cargo be damned
and cast overboard,

birthing a battle
of wills between people
who live with too much stuff
and those who live in a world
of 90 degree angles.

Janet Cormier is a painter, writes prose and poetry, and performs comedy. Janet prefers different and original over pretty. She loves collecting stuff, but cleaning not so much. Janet also talks to strangers. A lot. Her column appears weekly on Oddball Magazine.
