Poem by Rie Sheridan Rose

Thoughts of Spring

Sunlit clouds drift ‘cross the sky
Birds herald the Spring.
Flowers like a carpet lie,
frogs in rivers sing.
The air is full of butterflies,
dancing in a ring…

Flowers like a carpet lie
frogs in rivers sing.
See the water flowing by,
dragonflies a-wing.
The air is full of butterflies,
dancing in a ring…

See the water flowing by,
dragonflies a-wing.
It’s hard to stay unhappy, even if you try…
it’s such a crazy thing…
The air is full of butterflies,
dancing in a ring…

Can anyone please tell me why?
It’s such a crazy thing…
Can anyone still moan or cry
within the Rites of Spring?
The air is full of butterflies,
dancing in a ring…
