Poem by Glenn Bowie

The Breath of Kings

You catch the wind in your sails
for all that it is worth
the breath of Kings
as the Oceans drip
from the ends of the earth

The Sun is a fire
that desire
has called forth
when it disappears on the Horizon
your dreams will consume you
breaking time in half

The world will turn on your word
spinning
only as you speak
when you fall silent
your tears will leave you weak

You catch the wind in your sails
never knowing
from where they came
the four corners of the Earth
you will cross in time
the Sea
will know your name
the Sea in it’s depths
will know your name

The Sea will drip
from the ends of the Earth
with only
your restless heart
to blame
