The E.A.R.: You Drive Me Crazy

Up until last year, I never drove much in Boston because I never had a car.

Last year I finally bought a car because my new position at work required one. Driving in Boston and on its highways have brought out the worst in me. While there are a plethora of stupid things I’ve encountered on the road, here are a few that absolutely irk me.

1. To my left lane drivers, I get it, we all do it, myself included. With that being said, it is primarily a passing lane and that requires y’all to be driving at least 10-15 miles over the speed limit. If you are not comfortable driving over the speed limit, stay the hell out of the left lane. All it takes is for that one slow ass driver to hold everything up. There are 2-3 other lanes for you to do that tortoise shit. The drivers on the Mass Pike and I-95 are generally good about this, and I can often drive steadily at 75-90ish without slowing down. The drivers on I-93 are another sadly another story. There’s nothing wrong with being a slow driver, just don’t do it in the left lanes.

2. Is it really that difficult to take the damn snow off of your car after a storm? I’d be filthy rich if I had a dollar for the amount of times snow has flown into my window from the top of another car. One of these days, my windows will get shattered, and I’ll get to sue the fuck out of you. I pray that day never comes for the sake of my safety

3. A little bit of precipitation and everyone loses their minds. I could understand if visibility sucked, but y’all are driving like pansies when it drizzles. If you can’t take a little rain then you probably shouldn’t be on the road.

4. I love how someone will drive slow in front of me, I’ll pass them, and they’ll all of a sudden try to pass me. I guess people don’t like tasting their own medicine.

I can on an on, but I’ll leave you with these. One day I’ll come up with a more drawn out list of the stupid shit people do on the road.
