Poem by Ricky Garni

Bucket List

Once there was a song called YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHING YET.
I was a little boy when it was written and I listened to it a lot.
The first time I heard it, I thought it was true: I hadn’t seen anything yet.
Year after year, I listened to it, and every time I thought to myself:

Why haven’t I seen anything yet?
When will I see anything?
I still haven’t seen anything.
When will I be able to
finally see something?
Anything?

Not yet,
they sing
and sing
and sing

Not yet.
