It’s All One Thing #211: Brother Blue

For Dr. Hugh Morgan

There should be a statue of Brother Blue
on Cambridge Common dressed in his full regalia
he should sit there with his tunic of blue and red
and purple an open lap for all the children who pass by
his purple beret covered in butterfly pins as he says, “Hello”
with his butterfly hand and his other left arm is outstretched
to offer the hug of his final complete embrace of all the people
with all the love of all the world, Brother Blue who told the story
of plain little caterpillar who became the glorious butterfly, Brother Blue!
