Jagged Thought #185: In Case Of Emergency Break Glass

Write.

Winner Wright
Write it all
Down
Recite each word
Find each precious stone
And layer it
Thicken it like cake
Resend
Each window
And stop
Erase.
And try again.
And try again.
Till theirs no love left in your pen
Till theirs no meaning behind it.
Till the media takes over.
And you forget why you started in the first place.
Because writing was a Friday night, now it’s Monday.
It was a train ride to survive.
Now it’s just a deadline.
It was my solace in this sinking ship.
Now it is a price tag.
It was what made me different.
Till
I found I was not at all.
That it was what made me love life.
Now I am disengaged with it.
Only breaking glass when the silent alarms go off or the temperature goes up.
No longer a life. Now just a life line.
