Donald Trump has given new meaning to the words March Madness in DC. I am referring to his allegations That former President President Barack Obama, ordered (or approved orders) to tap The Donald’s conversations in the White House.
Initially when I heard the story, I laughed. Clearly a desperate ‘Donald’ move. But at the same time, I was disappointed by the response of social/news media and the public to the allegations. OK, the pundits dismissed/downplayed Trump’s rants, but I expected more.
I thought there would be a simple yet elegant statement acknowledging the exquisite irony linking Trump’s allegations to reports of Trump activity.
Did the public forget stories provided by Buzzfeed, Vanity Fair & shared by other news outlets? According to these stories, Trump “listened in” on telephone conversations of his staff, employees and guests at his Mar-a-Lago Golf Club and Resort. (Note: There was also speculation the listening was not limited to this one location).
So future guests to the Trump White House remember: This President really wants to know what you have to say!
