Bamboozled No More: Passing Acquaintance


 

Every time I see him
he is high and I am sullen/sober

We manage to get past
our respective solitary states
of being, able to greet each other
at the start and end
of every day

with no sermons
no excuses no promises
we accept we be who we are

 

Janet Cormier is a painter, writes prose and poetry, and performs comedy. JC prefers different and original over pretty. She loves collecting stuff, but cleaning not so much. Janet also talks to strangers… a lot. Her column now appears weekly on Oddball Magazine.
