Poem by Colin James

Step Into the Light, Please

We used to live
near North Wales,
or was it near
North America?
There must have been
some similarities.
I remember now,
the call would go out
‘Let’s go and beat
these bastards!”
Thereby releasing us
from any sensible
obligations.
