Poem by Nahshon Cook

From A Letter From A Friend

I’ve been on a few dates
since the break-up

with my boyfriend
who’s Bangladeshi

and had to take a wife
he’s his parents’ only son

and doesn’t want
to disappoint them

I understand but not really
anyway we’ve stayed friends

all that to say
I’m still learning

how to be in love with life
down here in Singapore

Nahshon Cook is a poet. He lives in Denver, Colorado. He likes the sound of rain falling on tin roofs. He’s still alive.

Allison Goldin is an artist living in California. Her work is a collection of spontaneous drawings from the imagination. The most common link throughout her art are the semi-recognizable creatures scattered amongst and bringing together the surrounding doodles.
