Bamboozled No More: Breath is Sacred

Breath is sacred.
In yoga and meditation the intake and release of breath
increase awareness, directs the movement of energy throughout the body.
Inhaling and exhaling, the body tightens and then releases the pain, allowing us peace and rest.
Breath is sacred.
In love and passion,
the intake and release is impossible, we are left perpetually breathless
Breath is sacred.
Except on city streets, jail cells, police car/wagons
where the long arms of the law become unlawful
taking our breath away with beatings, bullets and ropes….
leaving us swinging from tree limbs and cell bars, weighted down in river beds
can you hear them/us?
“I can’t breathe “
These words that pleasured you have become your legacy
