My mind was cut off for a little while; think I overworked it for a second. I found, while looking for an ice pack for my brain, that cartoons are an amazing elixir to mind hammering reality sessions. Everyday, life is becoming more like an episode within a strange series, and that’s cool. Lately the reality sessions have involved a lot of scheduled events, running, confusing interactions, programming, safety, study and trying to figure out the puzzles that are people. We call that cornucopia of ingredients, life and its wackiness. Now, a form of the wackness (something that is not good) would be how the underminers of our society fastforwarded the path to adulthood by yoinking Saturday morning cartoons. We don’t need more news on Saturday, that’s for sure. It’s unfortunate you can’t just pry into someone’s brain from time to time. A steady stream might be too much, but commercial sized looks and possible insight would be a gift some days. It might be an old thing to gripe about, but what in the cotton candy was the reasoning behind that one?
Imagination, color, oddly shaped and crudely drawn figures, weird pitched voices and outrageous storylines, sounds interesting right? Why would you wanna take that away from someone when they wake up on a day off and their mind is still vulnerable? I experience that in all its awesomeness everyday at highschool. Wait… Was the cancellation of weekend creativity inspiring and colorful communication (cartoons) done for the advancement of education? Are we telling kids to go! Go! GO! to the awesomeness that is highschool!?! If we are trying in fact to usher kids nicely into an amazing educational frame of mind, THEN WE MUST GIVE THEM GOOD SYSTEMS AND PLACES WITH SYSTEMS IN PLACE TO BENEFIT THEM. Otherwise, we should give kids cartoons as a diet opposed to the news to deal with the nonsense and cynicism in the real world.
I know cartoons exist. I watch Teen Titans and wonder what it would be like to be Cyborg. I also think Beast Boy might be the illest thing on television next to SportsCenter. I see teamwork and encouragement and diligence against evil in a couple of friends. It’s a good message and the storylines are smart. It’s the kind of environment I want to see when I go to work, hang with friends, in case of an enemy intruder alert and for overall vibes. This is a general statement for all people to try and reenergize themselves and get ready for that push for whatever before the holiday season. It’s about to get hectic, cold season is in town and people are down because the sun is down early.
A little remedy for the colder and dark days is as follows:
1). You wanna try and get some movement in your day. It warms your body up so you are less stiff, your joints and muscles should be less achy and you should feel an improvement in your mood due to your body’s natural release of feel good hormones when you work out. I definitely recommend at least a half hour of walking. An hour would be best. Also teams sports are great due to the camaraderie and positive energy.
2). I’m a big believer in getting your vitamin C during this season. You can do vitamins juice and tea. A mix of all three would most likely be most beneficial. Do your research and consult your doctor before trying new medications or supplements.
3). Don’t forget your rest! Times are busy and things need to get done, but a non rested body is way more susceptible to sickness and fatigue due to lowered immune system functioning. So, be at your best and get your rest!
4). Lastly, you didn’t think I would let you forget about the calming, transformative and healing qualities of cartoons, did you? Nope. Watch cartoons for real, or something funny. The laughter will reduce cortisol levels and get you less stressed. Make it family time and everybody can chill out and laugh together.
Ok. That’s what I have to help right now. Please take care of yourselves. I hope this can be of use an you enjoy an amazing week of life! To living, listening, and learning… Be well.
